Is Organic Modern Style for You? If you love calm, neutral spaces, appreciate imperfections, if you want to feel one with nature, then you would love this style.
Some colors to think of when designing an organic interior are creams, beige, white, some blues, greens, reds, browns and most colors that you find often in nature, nothing bright and unnatural.
Materials also play an important role while incorporating this style, materials found and gifted to us by nature are the best to use. Forget faux everything. Please. No plastics, silicones, glittery things, and in general no manmade materials, besides being incompatible with this style, they can also make your place look cheap. Go with real plants, wood, stone, slate, bricks, etc. Also with fabrics, make sure to use natural fabrics, no synthetics. Try to find wool pieces, jutes, cotton, linen and see your place transform by these slight changes that don’t seem big at first. Always ask yourself “How can I bring in something from nature?” when you are designing your space.
Textures, textures, and textures. Remember nothing is perfectly shaped or smooth in nature. Consider granites, marbles, limestone, travertine, etc. to add some texture and character.
Shapes should look natural as well. Curves, arches, and free-form silhouettes look great in this style. Shapes in nature are never in a straight line, so don’t be afraid to use asymmetrical and uneven pieces.
Another small tip would be to let a lot of light into your house if possible through big windows, glass doors. This will make you feel the organic modern style besides just seeing it, through a lot of sunlight filtered by sheer linen curtains, and opening up the big windows for some fresh air will definitely make your space smell clean and bring outdoor feels.
